poured a clear, golden yellow color with a thumb width, frothy white head. The aroma is malty, with a very unique earthy
spiciness. The body is very smooth, thick
malt base, with a touch of sweetness and a generous amount of hops. The finish leaves a light lingering bitterness.
The body itself is well balanced but the finish seems completely out of place. Overall, this is just an average beer
for me. There is a pleasant spiciness that runs the course of the body and the ABV is hidden well, but something
on the finish is off putting and throws beer off. The finish seems like a traditional lager finish, but it
needs something more after the "imperial" body. Southern Tier has been extremely innovative with their
imperial series, and while this has some nice aspects it just doesn't come together for me.
