Grand Cru poured a clear, amber color with a two fingered width,
off white head. The nose is earthy, with spices and some yeast on top of a little malt. The malt is a little more
forward on the body, dominating the flavor profile and providing nice depth. Spices, sugar and biscuity notes all compliment
the thick malt backbone. The finish is proof that simple can work. A few hops, a little dryness and a touch of alcohol
work really well. The glass was left coated with hanging lace. Overall, this is a great beer. A nice representative
of the style, it has complexity and nice depth. It is still a little young but this is a must buy for your fridge/cellar.
