Type: American-Style Strong
Ale ABV: 14%
| Price | 2.5 | | Packaging | 1.25 | | Aroma | 14 | | Flavor
Beginning | 20 | | Flavor Middle | 22.5 | | Flavor End | 16 | | Overall | 13.5 | | Total | 89.75 | Fourteen poured a pitch black color with a finger
width, dark tan head. The aroma is muddled, making it really tough to pick out any distinct flavors other than
some some dark malt and alcohol. The body is thick up front, with almost no carbonation which gives it an oily mothfeel. Huge
dark malts, lots of sugar, and a chocolate middle are all present before a warming alcohol finish packed with bitter hops.
Overall, this is a beer that has its moments, like the middle which is great, but is ultimately too big for its own good.
It gets better as it warms, and does a good job of hiding the obscenely high ABV, but it needs to either be aged for awhile
or be paired with either food or a cigar. Fourteen poured
