of dark, roasted malt, and hints of maple syrup. The body was smooth, and medium bodied for a porter.
There were chocolate and faint coffee notes up front with a light sweetness. The finish is a little bland,
with the sweetness lingering on the palate for a little bit. There were trace amounts of lace left hanging on the glass.
Overall, this is an interesting idea for a beer that is ultimatly a little dissapointing. Maple Porter starts out
great with the sweetness a great idea to balance out the dark malt. The beer falls off after the initial few sips
as the body thins out and the sweetness starts to become overwhelming. There needs to be a little bit more malt
to counter the sweetness.
