 Rohrbach's was founded in 1991.  Owner John Urlaub named the brewery after Heidelberg-Rohrbach, a district of the city of Heidelberg in Germany, a town where Urlaub had lived.  In 1995, Rohrbach's opened their current location at 3859 Buffalo Road in Rochester.  The company has sinced opened a second location at 97 Railroad Street.
