Belgian Independence Day
Ale poured a clear, golden yellow color with a two-fingered width, white head. The nose is wonderful, dominated
by big spices, with a some barnyardish apple notes. The body is thick, but light giving the mouthfeel
a marshmellow like feel. Spices and some green apple on the backend lay ontop of a pale malt base. The finish
has a huge amount of spices, and leaves a light dryness. The glass was left coated with thick, hanging lace. Overall,
a nice beer that is a very different take on the saison style. The spices could be a little overwhelming at times, a
food pairing would help, but still a decent beer.
