Level poured a deep, mahogony color with a pen width, off white head. The aroma is very nice, with malt and
dark fruit. The mouthfeel is smooth with low carbonation. The body is similiar to the nose with a little
sweetness up front, a malt base and dark fruit. The hops peak through on the backend, leaving a sticky, bitter finish
where the alcohol runs a little wild. Overall, a very nice representative of the old ale style. A big beer, it
is balanced and has some real character. A little finese on the finish would make it a great beer, but as is, it is
very, very good.
