Local 1 uses a blend of barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from
Mauritius and Belgian yeast. The beer pours a coppor color with a big white head. The nose is malty with
quite a bit of yeast. The middle is really heavy and has plenty of malts and some underlying hops. The finish
is not extremely big and is a little dry. There was plenty of hanging lace on the glass which is a result of the abundance
of malts in this beer. Local 1 is complex and after a 750 mL bottle, still hard to figure out. It is
a solid beer but nothing that I would go out of my way to find. The alcohol and malts are there and it is a strong ale,
but I can't help but think it is a little to heavy.
