2008-2009 version tasted 4/12/09
Black Chocolate Stout poured a pitch black color with a finger width, light brown head. The aroma was very rich,
with lots of roasted malt and a huge chocolate nose. The body is complex, with more roasted malt, and is sweet
up front with a distinct chocolate taste. The finish is short, but enjoyable with a medium dryness to it. This
beer is very well balanced as it moves from the sweetness and chocolate up front to a dry finish that is not overwhelming.
This is a fantasic beer to pair with dessert but is just as good alone.
