Toxic Sludge poured a dark brown
color with a pen width, off white head. The aroma has a ton going on. Rich dark malt with chocolate notes
and a heap of fresh hops, offers plenty for the nose but gives no clear identity. The body is smooth and thin up front,
almost a little watery. It has some sweetness up front, chocolate notes and is dry on the edges. As the beer
wears on it changes, and the piney hops start to take over. The finish offers up a light bitterness,
with hints of coffee, and a lingering dryness. Overall, this is a decent beer. It could use a little more
carbonation as a crisp mouthfeel would bring it to a new level. It gets much better as it warms and wears on.
A decent beer for a great cause.
